TESTIMONIALS FROM SOME OF OUR SATISFIED CLIENTS

Description of Work:

Entire Home Remodel. Complete kitchen and dining room redesigned to a great room.  Demolition of kitchen, dining room bedrooms and baths. Major reconstruction of walls involving new wall framing and design. All drywall removed with only two by fours remaining.  All new doors including rough framing. This was a MAJOR project that needed to be performed to the city of Del Mar construction practices.

Comments:
“Paul has done two projects for us. Both times he has delivered on time, on budget and with excellent quality.

The first project that Paul did for us was fixing damage caused by a major flood. Paul helped us work with the insurance company giving expert recommendations on how and why things needed to be replaced. Paul then worked with us to redesign the kitchen and bath areas. Paul also showed alot of professionalism and patients in that due to a major slab defect found during reconstruction Paul had to wait over two months while the home owners association repaired the slab. He was very understanding and remained constantly in touch with us. After it was all done we marveled at the new cheery cabinets, wood floors and the tile work. The attention to detail and craftsmanship was outstanding.

The second project involved a compete restoration of a house in Del Mar. We bought a house that was a fixer but a more descriptive word would be "disaster." We showed Paul the house before we bought it and sought his advise on just "what the heck we were getting into". We put a tremendous amount of trust in Paul because we were investing our entire life savings into this house to fix it up. Paul worked with us to put a plan and cost structure together that allowed us to transform the "disaster" into a dream home and our "sanctuary." We felt like we were in the best hands as we watched week by week the progress his crew made. Paul is very picky about who he brings on the project.  The guys are hard workers and fun to be around :-)

We love the gourmet kitchen, the renovation of the original space and the new bathroom. It was a great experience. We had never gone through anything like this before and we are so grateful for Paul's knowledge and suggestions for a wonderful outcome. Except for the changes we asked for, Paul held to his cost structure and the project was done within budget. Without hesitation we would recommend Regal Concept and Designs.”

Entire Home Remodel, kitchen, Great Room, three bathrooms, four bedrooms, all carpets and tile, new electrical, windows and doors. New landscaping and hardscaping.

Comments:
“This is the second time we have used this company and we are extremely happy with how everything turned out. They demolished the existing interior and most of the exterior, down to the bare studs. Paul Lyttle came up with most of the designs and had constant suggestions for every aspect of our project. Even though we have done this before, there are so many decisions to be made every day; we found Paul's advice immensely helpful. His crew was always on time, they always cleaned up every day, and we actually enjoyed having them here (surprisingly). The quality of workmanship was very high. This is why we chose Regal Concepts in the first place; they custom build almost everything. We had a few strange sizes to deal with and they were able to just build it to fit. We had a very old kitchen (before 1970's), now we have beautiful cherry cabinetry with granite counter tops. They got the project done on time, and on budget, but most important for us is the quality of workmanship. We love our home and highly recommend Paul to all of our friends.”

Description of Work:
Custom kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel. removed old kitchen and bathrooms, moved walls, plumbing, and electrical. Installed new cabinets, granite counter tops, appliances, tile, and flooring. Installed new crown molding, base, door & window casing throughout, new plumbing fixtures.

Comments:
“We had a great experience! This was our first time remodeling and we were not sure what to expect. Our friends referred Paul to us, and we actually saw previous work that they did. Even so, we were still nervous. Paul met with us and explained all of the different phases of the project. We told him what we liked and did not like, somehow he came back with a design that we fell in love with. We played around with the color of the cabinets for a while, and Paul was very patient and helpful. Once we decided on that, we picked our granite and floor tile. Paul custom builds all the cabinets, which makes us proud that our kitchen and bathrooms are completely unique. We found this quite amazing, as we had some problem areas. Paul and his team were able to build cabinets to fit, and the end result was just so much better than we had hoped for! His crew was always on time, very respectful of our home and neighbors, and they cleaned up each and every day. The communication between Paul and us was always great. He responded to all of our e-mails quickly via Blackberry, and was always accessible to take a phone call. There were change orders which we decided upon, since the kitchen and bathrooms looked so good, at the end it made some of the other areas of the house look not so good. Paul was able to complete all of these quickly. With the exception of these add-ons, which we requested, there were no surprise charges. We are very happy with our new kitchen and bathrooms and can honestly say we would not change anything about them.”

Description of Work:
Paul and his crew came out and adjusted some of the cabinet doors they put in a couple of years ago and replaced a trash bin.

Comments:
“They were outstanding, as always. Paul (Regal's owner and #1 woodworker) showed up when he said he would and got the job done quickly. I really appreciate a company that stands behind its work. My wife and I continue to recommend Regal Concepts & Designs to everyone we hear is thinking about doing a remodel.”

Description of Work:
We hired Regal Concepts and Designs to add an addition to our home and remodel the existing house. They took care of the plans and permits, performed the work on time, took care of all the city inspections and stayed within the budget.

Comments:
“We are extremely happy with our home and the service provided. The workers were always on time, the sub contractors were very professional, the house was always left clean and very orderly at the end of the day. The project was held up a few times because of city inspectors not showing up; Paul and his crew came in on the weekend to keep on schedule. We added a lot of change orders and they were completed within the original timeline. The communication was great so we always knew what was happening. The crew was very friendly and fun to be around (we actually miss them being there, although we are very glad to be back in our home). Paul, the owner, was very helpful with critical design decisions, especially in the kitchen. We are very satisfied with everything and recommend Regal Concepts and Designs to all our friends. The finished home was more than we had envisioned, the kitchen is spectacular, and we are very happy.”

Description Of Work:
Replaced all cabinets, fixtures, floor, ceiling in kitchen. Upgrade electrical. Replaced ceiling and lighting in kitchen and dining room. Installed wood flooring in dining room. Installed marble flooring in kitchen and entryway.

Comments:
"Paul and his entire team of employees and contractors were on time, professional, and excellent craftsmen. They cleaned up after themselves each day; obviously took great pride in all they did. We had absolutely no problems with change orders (and we gave them a lot as we got into the remodel). We have recommended them to many people and no one has ever been dissatisfied. Paul's bid was extremely reasonable...so low, in fact, that I thought we were being scammed. Paul Lyttle, the owner, responded immediately to phone calls and emails."

Description Of Work:
We experienced a water leak that damaged a wall, the floors, some of the cabinets and the countertops of our kitchen. With our kitchen partially destroyed we decided to update the kitchen with new cabinets, countertops, appliances and flooring. We interviewed several contractors for this job and ultimately selected Regal Concepts. The work completed included replacement of all of the cabinets with custom-made cabinets, some electrical repairs, new granite countertops, installation of new appliances, sink, garbage disposal and faucet, and moving a wall over 12 inches.

Comments
From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. Having been through the home remodel experience previously, we were prepared for the worse. In just a few days of Regal Concepts starting the work we realized how delighted we were in having selected Regal Concepts. Paul and his crew were professional and each one took great pride in his work. Paul was quick to respond to emails and phone calls (even when he was on his honeymoon and out of the country!).

Paul was very receptive when we informed him we wanted to use a flooring contractor to replace the flooring.

We are very pleased with our new kitchen and with all of the work completed by Regal Concepts. We would highly recommend this company based on quality, pricing, and responsiveness. We would use Regal Concepts again without hesitation.

Description Of Work:
I used Regal Concepts & Designs to remodel my kitchen and two bathrooms, in my Craftsman home.  I have used other contractors in my past, which didn't go well.  However with Paul and his crew... well let's just say they are true professionals.  From the start, I could tell Paul's vast experience and training in Europe could be seen in his designs and details.  Paul's design ideas were so much better than my own!  My kitchen has so much more usable space than before, which was what I needed.

Member Comments:
The crew was quick but clean.  In fact they cleaned up each night, which was was great!  Now people who come over ALWAYS comment on how exquisite my kitchen and bathrooms are!  I am so happy with the end result that I have recommended him to at least 10 of my friends and family and will continue to do so.

Description Of Work:
We have a room addition in which we wanted to create a library and I had a vision of what I wanted for bookshelves.  I had a few companies in to bid on the job.  Each company said they did custom woodwork - but in reality, most companies were only able to provide specific size modular cabinets that had limited options.  Only Regal Concepts and Designs was truly custom and able to create a library that surpassed my vision.  Paul is creative, listened to exactly what I wanted and provided several drawing options.  We discussed stain color in depth since I had a specific wood color that I wanted, and Paul provided several samples of custom stain to achieve the wood color my husband and I wanted.  It is evident that Paul takes pride in his work and he made certain that we were happy with the results before completing the project.  The result - we LOVE it!!!!!!!
My husband and I have recommended Paul to friends and will certainly use him again for any future home remodeling.

Comments:
Regal Concepts, and especially Paul Lyttle, demonstrated a sincere passion for the job. Our thoughts and concerns were thoughtfully considered, and when we did jointly come up with a plan, we had a high level of confidence that our expectations would be met. During the project, workers got to the job site on time. They did their job without being disruptive to our family or neighbors. They cleaned up after themselves. When the materials arrived, you could tell that Regal Concepts took the time to prepare things right and with care. Start to finish, our project took a little over a month to complete. During that time, our household was able to continue to function and we could see our ideas come to life before our eyes. After the job was done, Paul took special care to ensure our goals were met, coming back to the job (cheerfully) to address minor adjustments. We couldn't be happier with our new library.

Comments:
We have been completely satisfied with Paul and his crew at Regal Concepts, and recommend them highly to everyone we know. We first met Paul while looking for a contractor to remodel our bathroom and do some needed home repairs, and were immediately impressed with his extensive knowledge of home remodeling and construction, his skills as a wood craftsman, and his suggestions for remodeling. When we decided to undertake a more extensive remodel, we worked with Paul and an architect he recommended to come up with a plan for an interior/exterior remodel that would great improve the functionality and aesthetic appeal of our home, and Paul and his team carried out the remodel. It was a highly interactive process, with constant communication; Paul always responded to our phone calls and emails very quickly, and updated us on a regular basis. We were particularly impressed by how he would present several alternatives for most situations, describing pros and cons and covering a range of budgetary options. We had originally considered hiring an interior designer, but decided that this was unnecessary, due to Paul's excellent eye for design. Paul's team was great, and has been working with him for years - we especially enjoyed working with Arcadio (who seems to know how to do everything, from fine woodwork to plumbing/electrical work to roofing) and Carlos, who is an expert tile installer. The quality of the work, and in particular the wood cabinets/moldings and tile, is really outstanding, and whenever we raised a question about something or requested a minor modification, it was quickly addressed. Although we started the project with a focus on the interior remodel, we were so happy with Regal's work that we kept adding projects, including the front porch addition and the stone patio - and then we decided we might as well have Regal repair our falling-apart garage. Detailed price quotes were always provided, and Paul coordinated all permitting with the architect and oversaw meetings with inspectors. The complete project took exactly one year from start to finish; three to four months had been estimated for the initial interior remodel, and that was a fairly accurate estimate. When we tell people we remodeled our home, we often hear horror stories about their experiences with contractors - but that was the opposite of our experience. We can't imagine a better contractor/team than Paul & Regal. Paul and his team were hard-working, extremely pleasant, responsive, skilled, helpful, and honest. You could probably find someone to do the work cheaper, but we thought the cost was extremely reasonable for what we got. You definitely get your money's worth with Paul & Regal, and you will actually enjoy the remodeling experience (at least as much as that's possible!).

Description Of Work:
Complete kitchen remodel (design and installation) of a 1914 craftsman home with a gourmet kitchen including wet bar, 2 refrigerators, pot filler over the stove, and eat-in kitchen space including hide-away TV. All electrical, gas, cable and plumbing gutted and relocated. Custom cherry cabinets with pull-out drawers and range hood which utilized every square inch of space. Solid granite counter tops and ivory, marble tile, subway-pattern backsplash. Built 12 ft custom buffet in adjacent dining room with build in wine refrigerators and cherry cabinets to match kitchen. Also built custom linen and wardrobes in Master Bedroom.

Comments:
Best kitchen in the neighborhood from both a functionality and ascetics standpoint. Paul worked patiently with us to get every detail of the design we wanted, in a relatively small space. Construction went smooth and they were there consistently until the job was done. Timing of some of the sub-contractors took a little longer than expected and an ice maker needed to be re-installed.  Not the cheapest but worth the price. Renovation was completed in 4 months and we have a FANTASTIC and BEAUTIFUL kitchen we enjoy every day!!!

Description Of Work:
Full Kitchen and Dining Room remodel.  Some Living Room updates.

Comments:
Excellent work.  After 10 years we still have people tell how much they love the remodel.  Paul was able to work during the day while I was away at work.  He would leave before I came back home so I never had to walk into a home with construction still going on after a long, hard day at work.  He was also very good with my cat.  He went above an beyond anything I imaged the remodel could be.  I trust him 100% and he was always honest with the time and cost the remodel would take to complete.

Description Of Work:
Closet design & remodel:  Provided design options of closets, demo of closets, material order, install of cedar planks along the back walls of master closet, install of cedar shelving, install of trim and hardware, complete paint.  The master required reshaping of the door thresholds which they did in order to fit the custom doors.  Guest closet:  Design options, material order, demo, install of maple style melamine shelving, and complete paint.  The threshold of the guest required three eight foot doors and a tracking system allowing all doors to slide independently.  They finished the maple doors and installed them perfectly with the tracking system.

Bookshelf:  Design options of bookshelf, order of materials, complete fabrication, staining and install.

Development of large crawl space:  Altered unused crawl space (approx. 120 sqft) to a usable storage area.  Made large entrance w/door, re-routed plumbing to maximize usable area, leveled ground and installed brick flooring, covered remaining dirt to eliminate dust.

Patio:  Design options of paver flooring, removal of brick (eventually re-used in crawl space) and two trees, preparing and leveling of ground with appropriate slope for drainage, ordering material and install including central circular design with pavers, and install of gas line.

Comments:
This is the third project that I've used Paul and his crew for.  Once again the job went as planned and I'm completely satisfied with the work done.  Paul helps with the design and gives helpful suggestions not only to save on costs but also insight in aesthetics.  His crew are on time, respectful and completely professional.  They demolished the closets in my master bedroom with minimal intrusion.  Some problems were encountered with making door thresholds fit the custom doors, which Paul accommodated without issue.  The bookshelf also had to be changed in the middle of the job due to a sloping ceiling that caused some aesthetic issues.  We were able to work it out and it looks great.  The crawlspace he created is very functional and has given me the storage space that my neighbors envy.  The patio work was also done with minimal intrusion.  His team made a temporary door in the fencing in an effort to eliminate the need to move material through the home.

If you have any remodeling job, I would suggest at least a consult with Regal Concepts & Designs.

Description Of Work:
Our work is still in progress. Paul Lyttle and his crew at Regal Concepts and Designs are doing a wonderful job of totally redoing all three of our bathrooms at our home in Escondido, CA. He is also putting in new floors, replacing doors, taking down a partial wall, and adding another. Redoing our kitchen is next on the list.

Comments:
Paul Lyttle is not only a knowledgeable professional, but a true artisan of woodworking. We still live in Iowa while Paul and his crew at Regal Concepts and Designs are working on our home in Escondido, CA. He keeps in touch by phone and e-mail, sending us pictures of their work and ensuring that we are part of any decision. One of the things I valued most about Paul is his way of providing insight on what works and what looks good, while valuing our input and giving us what we want --- really even better. Remodeling existing bathroom and adding shower. Installation of new crown moulding, base moulding and window and door casing throughout the existing main floor including master bedroom, as well asNew hardwood and travertine tile floors.

Comments:
My nondescript ranch style home was transformed into a light-filled, Tuscan Villa. Paul delivered a truly custom design with many architectural features. We had asked for a portico and we received a porte cochere. What is a porte cochere, we asked? Well, it went beyond our request for a portico and became a veranda, much to our delight. Paul and his architect, Jan, are well worth the money -- along with his highly skilled and wonderful crew. What stands out most about him is his master craftsmanship, as well as his artistic design capabilities. With most remodelers, especially the most well known, there are many different players: the designer, the architect, the salesman, the crew, the project leader, etc. etc. Regal Concepts and Design really do take out the middlemen. Therefore, you reap the benefits.

Very smooth from first meeting to final work. we had great communication, almost daily either by phone, email or text, considering I live in Las Vegas and Regal Concepts is in San Diego I think this is great. The tenants were expecting guests from out of state the 3rd of October and they were concerned that the remodel I wanted to do wouldn't be done in time. I was in touch with our tenants on a twice weekly basis who informed me the work was coming along as planned, the workers were professional, courteous, and clean. I chose Regal Concepts, out of 3 other companies, I am very happy with Paul Lyttle and his company and plan to us them again for more remodeling.

Description Of Work:
Bought our new house, it needed a lot of work so we gutted it down to the bare walls in a lot of areas. We added a new bedroom and bathroom to the home. We remodeled two existing bathrooms and a kitchen. New drywall, paint and carpets. Installed a new staircase and front entrance. Tore down and re-built a deck. Upgraded our electric panel.

Comments:
We bought this house and were also paying for another home, so we wanted to get in as soon as possible. The owner Paul and his crew were absolutely excellent about accommodating us with this. We always knew what was going on, and if there was a delay, no matter what the reason they came in and worked over weekends and at nights to make up the time. We quickly realized once we got going that we knew very little to nothing about colors, materials and finishes. Paul was able to advise us and help with all of our selections. He also did the lay out for our new kitchen and all of the bathrooms. We had a budget for a interior designer but just put that money to other use. Paul was always available by phone when we needed to talk with him and for us this was important. We were delighted with the finished product, and will use Paul in the future.
